The internet is a wonderfully powerful tool; packed full of resources. You can find “anything” on the World Wide Web – But, LOVE? Can you really find love on the internet??? Despite all those sappy eHarmony commercials and the equally corny Match.com, the only thing you’ll find through internet dating is you being an e-Easy target.
How much easier can you make it for a guy? You’ve just made yourself a catalog entry! You have now become eBay vagina. Now you have all these losers bidding for your attention. They woo you with chat behind a screen and send you pics from 10 years ago. And if he does sound and look that good, he probably couldn’t look you in the eyes and tell you what he feels without his fingers on a keyboard. As great as social networking is…it’s the death of interpersonal skills.
Ok, let’s say you do hook up with some loser from a dating site. (I know…all you e-Daters are getting salty with me calling you losers - deal with it!) Now you think you’ve found your match – your soulmate. But, what you actually found was a guy who cannot communicate effectively – cannot confront the issues and challenges of a healthy relationship – one who doesn’t possess the requisite skills to sustain a long term relationship, let alone marriage.
Look, I have friends and family that internet date. They have a lot of fun (especially the guys), but none of them have gotten married! The women all say they want to. However, everyone of them is just floating in purgatory waiting for this non-committal loser to propose or set a date after this never ending fake engagement. Remember my eBay analogy? Think of yourself as a prize purchase – bought with a credit card that the buyer never pays off. And now you’re a BIG FAT LOSER too!!!
